Smith, Archie (27 Jan 1893 – 07 Mar 1964)

Archie V. Smith, 71, Loyal, died at his home at 2:15 p.m. Saturday March 7, of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Loyal Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul Doering officiating. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Archie Smith was born in the town of Loyal January 27, 1893. He was married at Neillsville on June 20, 1917 to Carrie Vanderhoof. The couple lived on a farm in the town of Loyal until 1944 when they moved in the city of Loyal. Mr. Smith was then employed by the Pierce Construction Co. of Medford until two years ago.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Strey, Loyal, also one brother, Floyd Smith, Summer, Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Oswald (Lottie) Henninger and Mrs. James (Vera) Roder, Loyal.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
