Duane Schroeder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Schroder of Route 2, Loyal , was awarded an All-American Third Place for his 1963 basket brochure. The award was made by the Rev. Merritt Bornhoff at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa.

This award is given by the National Association of Inter-Collegiate Athletics, out of New York. In 1961 Duane was awarded a second place award for his 1961 football brochure by the same organization.

In 1962 he received a second place for a development brochure he edited. This award was presented by the American College Public Relations Association.

Duane graduate from Loyal High School in 1954 and from Wartburg College in 1958. He is employer as public relations director at Wartburg College.
