Schneider, John (30 MAR 1882 - 15 JUL 1964)

Funeral services for John Schneider, 82, Colby, were held Saturday, July 18, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, after he died unexpectedly at Sunny Vale Manor at Wausau on Wednesday, July 15, 1964. The Rev. Harold Woodworth officiated at teh service, and burial was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wilbur Becker, Harold Miller, Harold Wiersig, Morris Gierl, Rudolph Wiersig and Richard Behrens. The body lay in state at Lulloff Funeral Home.

John Schneider was born in the town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.) on March 30, 1882, where he farmed until he retired in 1953. He married the former Gladys Kuse in 1932.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Arlyn of Colby; three daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Delores) Pothal, Wausau, Miss Ila Schneider, Chicago, and Miss Gladys Schneider, Eau Claire; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hellmer, Iowa City, Ia., and Mrs. Leo Bates, Tulare, Calif., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
