Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Yahr, 77, Unity, were held
Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Mrs. Yahr died Thursday, July 30, 1964,
at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Burial was made in Colby Memorial
Cemetery, Colby.
Pallbearers were Ethan Zimmerman, Emmanuel Zimmerman,
Herman Molle, George Miller Sr., Ed Mews and Howard Hause.
During the
service Kenneth Schulz sang "Old Rugged Cross: and" Abide With Me," accompanied
by Mrs. Prien on the organ.
Mrs. Yahr was born Emma Justman on March 19,
1887, in the town of Unity (Clark Co., Wis.). She received her education in the
local schools, and on Dec. 29, 1914 she married Maynard Yahr at North Spencer
Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. Yahr farmed in the town of Unity until their
retirement about five years ago. She was a member of the garden club and Zion
Lutheran Church.
Emma Yahr is survived by her husband, two brothers,
Walter Justman, Spencer, and Norville Justman of Edgar, four sisters, Mrs.
William (Frances) Schwantes, Colby, Mrs. Emil (Mathilda) Martens, Colby, Mrs.
Harry (Lydia) Hermanson, Spencer, and Mrs. Herbert (Esther) Lambert, Edgar. She
was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Friends and
relatives attended from Greenwood, Stratford, Marshfield, Spencer, Edgar, Colby,
Unity, and Wis. Rapids.
