Mattila,
Victor (1881 - 26 JUL 1964)
Funeral services were held for Victor
Mattila, 83, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), on July 28 at Bethany Lutheran Church,
Owen. The Rev. Lauri J. Isaacson officiated at the services, and burial was made
in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Mattila died at his home at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 25,
1964.
Organist Mrs. Tovio Kallio accompanied Mrs. Kauno Niemi, Mrs.
Hjalmar Heillinen and Mrs. William Kangas as they sang "Will There be any Stars
in My Crown?" and a Finnish hymn, "Ei Rauhaa."
Floral tributes were
carried by Mrs. Arne Laakso, Mrs. Emil Potocnik, Anna Ristola, Mrs. William Maki
and Kathryn and Marilyn Maki.
Relatives from out of town attending teh
funeral included Mr. and Tovio Mattila and daughter Patsy, Waukegan, Ill., Mrs.
Sylvia Marr and daughters Evelyn and Mrs. Jack (Carolyn) Porter and daughter,
Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Garces and family, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs.
Matt Kallio and John and Harvey Rosenquist, Waukegan, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Dean
Hawks, Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson, Madison and many other friends and
relatives from the surrounding area.
