Herrick, Donna G.A. (1 AUG 1964)

Miss Donna G.A. Herrick, Colby, exchanged marriage vows with Jerome C. Ohlinger, Colby, in a wedding ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 1, 1964.

Mrs. Alois Gabriel of Colby played the organ, accompanying the choir. The church was decorated with pink and white carnations and white gladioli.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Florian Herrick and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ohlinger, both of Colby.

The bride's gown was of elegant silk organza, elaborately embroidered in a definite design down the gown front. The fitted bodice was styled with a simple scoop neckline, long tight sleeves, with a minute touch of cording at the waist. The flat front, unpressed, pleated, modified bell skirt tapered toward the back to create a chapel train, which bustled into a butterfly back.

The imported floral headpiece highlighted with pearls and crystals held the bouffant veil of pure silk and imported English illusion. The bride carried a bouquet of red roses and white gardenias with lilies of the valley, and wore a gold locket belonging to her great-great-grandmother.

Attending the bride were Miss Patricia Herrick, sister of the bride, Colby, Mrs. Benedict Bauer, Catawba, sister of the groom, Miss Marian Ohlinger, Marshfield, sister of the groom and Mrs. Donald Wibben, Colby, friend of the couple. They wore cotillion blue, street length dresses made of faille taffeta, featuring scoop necklines, cap sleeves and set-in midriff. The unpressed pleated semi-full skirts were styled with Watteau panels at the back, topped with a bow. The bridesmaids wore matching hats with lily of the valley drop front and circular veils.

The groom's attendants were Benedict Bauer, Catawba, brother-in-law of the groom, James Herrick, Greenwood, cousin of the bride, James Kessler, Eau Claire, cousin of the groom, and Donald Wibben, Colby, friends of the groom.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the city hall followed by a dinner at the church hall. A wedding dance was held at Sportsmen's Park in the evening.

Upon their return from a wedding trip through teh northwester states, the couple will make their home in Colby, where the groom is employed by Harmony Co-op Produce Company. The bride is employed as an x-ray technician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Out of town guests attended the wedding from Greenwood, Willard, Athens, Durand, Stetsonville, Hewitt, Green Bay, Abbotsford, Unity, Lima, Marshfield, Wausau, Spencer and Hilbert.
