Kalata, Marcyanna (1878? – 1 AUG
1964)
Mrs. Marcyanna Kalata, 86, of Blue Island, Ill., and formerly of
the Stanley area, died Aug. 1. Funeral rites were held Wednesday at St. Mary’s
Czestochowa Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Born in Poland,
she came to the United States in 1896 and settled at Scranton, Pennsylvania. She
lived from 1910 to 1959 at Junction, where she and her husband, John, operated a
farm. He died in 1939.
Survivors include one son, Steve, Chicago; four
daughters; Sophia Kalata and Mrs. Hedy Duffey, Blue Island, Ill.; Mrs. Al Wicon,
Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Gale Steele, Sutherlin, Ore; 21 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
