Kobs, Roger Roland (22 FEB 1924 - 5 MAY 2013)

Roger Roland Kobs passed away on May 5, 2013 at his residence in the Town of Colby.

Roger was born on February 22, 1924 to August and Bertha (Koeppen) Kobs. He attended Atwood Elementary and Colby High School. He worked all his life farming on the family farm, which was homesteaded in 1909. He enjoyed his dairy cows and his large herd of Simmental beef cattle.

Roger enjoyed his life doing various things, hunting, fishing in local and Canadian waters many years. He especially enjoyed gambling, at which he was quite lucky, as well as other fun activities.

He is survived by his special friend, pet Harley, and significant other Eileen, and his nieces, Wanda, Karen, Vicky and Wendy.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman; sisters, Dorothy, Sylvia and Orine; and wife, Margaret, who he married on September 1945, and died in March 1946.

Roger had many wonderful neighbors and friends. He was most generous and thoughtful and enjoyed their visits. Despite poor health, he never complained and always had a smile and a great sense of humor. His famous saying was "We'll see," but we never saw.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10 at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Reverend Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Colby Memorial Cemetery in Colby.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
So loved, so missed, so very dear
