Fred Melcher, who has been home sick for the past two weeks, is reported to be much better.

Miss Daisy Hartson returned from Minnesota last Monday, where she has been employed the last few months.

One evening the last of the week while W.F. Hein and Miss Arlie Campbell were boat riding on the lake their boat capsized and both had a narrow escape from drowning. When near the mill they were about to change places and Miss Campbell was to take the oars. Without warning the boat swamped, leaving its occupants struggling in some twenty feet of water. Mr. Hein, who is a good swimmer, with difficulty rescued Miss Campbell. It was a close call as no other help was at hand at the time of the accident.

Rev. G.B. Haskell was called to Alma Center to officiate the funeral of N.M Riggs last Friday.
