Mitchell, Sherman W. (11 May 1907
- 5 August 1969)
Sherman W. Mitchell, 62, of Rt. 1 Marshfield, died
August 5, at the Veterans Hospital in Madison. Private services were held
Saturday from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. The Rev. William Dushek,
pastor of the United Methodist Church of Neillsville and Granton, officiated and
burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was born May 11,
1907, at Olyphant, Ark., and moved with his parents to Iowa at the age of six
and later to the Neillsville area, where he lived for a number of years. He had
resided on R. 1 Marshfield, for the last eight years. He was married to Mary
Bruckner of the Granton area. He was a veteran of World War II.
Pallbearers were: Richard George and Michael Hart, Richard Hart, Roy Sersch and
Melvin Marvin.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dale of Chili, Gary
of Granton, Kenneth of Auburndale, and Steve of Marshfield; four daughters, Mrs.
John (Lois Jean) (all other names of daughters were missing from my copy).
