Putnam, Hugh Raymond (22 January 1917 - 19
August 1969)
Hugh Raymond Putnam, 52, of Mequon, died Tuesday at 4:20
a.m. in Neillsville.
He was born January 22, 1917, in Homer, Mich., to
Guy and Julia (Thomas) Putnam. He was educated in Milwaukee, where he entered
the service and was a member of the United States Army Signal Corps during World
War II.
He was married to Gertrude Rewolinski on July 21. 1945 in
Milwaukee, and lived there and in Mequon. He worked for Sprague of Wisconsin
Electric Company at Grafton.
The Putnams had purchased property in the
Town of Levis recently, where they were making plans to retire. They were
spending their vacation here.
Mr. Putnam is survived by his wife,
Gertrude; five children, Hugh R., Jr., Thomas, Mary, Jane and Ann, all at home;
two sisters, Mrs. Edith Helmer of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy)
Sweet of Bronson, Mich.; three brothers, Warren of Albion, Mich., Roy of Grand
Rapids, Mich., and Lloyd of Homer, Mich.
The body was taken to the Densow
Funeral Home in Thiensville, and funeral services will be held there from St.
James Catholic Church. Burial will be made in the Resurrection Cemetery. The
Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements here.
