Malaszuk, Kathleen Amelia (Marriage - 23 August 1969)
Miss Kathleen Amelia Malaszuk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Malaszuk of
Rt. 3 Thorp, and Edwin Eugene Barth, son of Mrs. Gertrude Barth of Rt. 2,
Greenwood, were married Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Hedwig’s chapel in Thorp. The
Rev. Bill Matzek officiated at the double-ring ceremony, performed before 300
guests.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was attired in
a fitted lace dress with a full skirt, featuring scalloped edges, long, lace
sleeves and a square neckline. Her long, lace train with scalloped edging was
attached to each shoulder with a bow. Her elbow-length veil fell from a two-tear
rhinestone headpiece. She carried a large bouquet of red carnations, white roses
and white stephanotis, with red carnations intertwined in the long ribbons.
Delores Malaszuk of Thorp, sister of the bride, was maid-of-honor. Diane
Biddle of Thorp, Mrs. Trudy Hollfelder of Mt. Horeb, a sister of the groom, and
Mary Krych of Chicago, Ill., a cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaids. They
wore multi-colored gowns of aqua blue, Nyle green, yellow and pink, with an
Empire-waist in front changing to a fitted waist in back, and featuring lace
collars and long, sheer sleeves. Each carried a colonial bouquet of
multi-colored daisies and ‘mums, with long multi-colored ribbons.
Fred
Barth of Greenwood, brother of the groom, was bestman. Jim Kondelik of Illinois,
and Louie Andruszkiewicz and Tony Bielecki of Thorp were groomsmen. Serving as
ushers were Dave Hein, brother-in-law of the groom, of Sun Prairie, and Orville
Loberg, cousin of the bride, of Christie.
Ringbearer was Francis
Malaszuk, cousin of the bride, of West Allis, and flowergirl was Dawn
Andruszkiewicz of Thorp. Music was provided by Alvin Styczyuski.
Multi-colored streamers decorated the Thorp Legion Hall, where a reception was
held, with 500 people attending.
The bride attended Thorp High School
and is employed in the People’s Exchange Bank at Thorp as a bookkeeper. The
groom also attended Thorp High School and is employed in Eau Claire.
They
will reside on Rt. 3, Stanley.
