Sonntag, Sarah Ann (17 September 1895 - 21 August
1969)
Mrs. Ernest (Sarah Ann) Sonntag, 73, of Neillsville, died here
Thursday afternoon, August 21. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m.
from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. William Dushek of the United
Methodist Church officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Sonntag was born September 17, 1895, in Pennsylvania to James and
Nora (Lutz) Judge. She received her education there and moved with her parents
to Indiana in 1912. On January 8, 1919, she was married to Ernest Sonntag in
Crown Point, Ind. Mr. Sonntag retired in 1955 and they moved to the Fairchild
area, where they resided until 1964, when they moved to California. They
returned to Neillsville in 1969. She was a member of the United Methodist
Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest; three daughters, Mrs.
Raymond (Lorraine) Kietzman of Hobart, Ind., Mrs. Sarah Oliver of Neillsville,
and Mrs. Donald (Janet) Kubik of Santa Ana, Cal.; a son, Fred Sonntag of Hobart,
Ind., and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Mark, James and
Dean Sonntag, Ernest Oliver, Bill Oliver and David Kietzman. “In The Garden” and
“Beyond the Sunset,” were sung by Kendall Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Jas. A.
Musil.
Those from out of town attending included: Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Sonntag, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kietzman and Mr. and Mrs. David Kietzman and
families of Hobart, Ind.; Mrs. Jean Vizena of East Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Janet Kubik
of Santa Ana, Cal.; Mrs. Luella Sonntag and daughter, Delrae and son, James and
her sister Miss Kathy Lorenz, all of Lansing, Ill.; Mrs. Leonard Person of
Osseo; and Mrs. Ed Ward, Mrs. Rugen Swenson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jasmer and
daughter, Jeannine, of Fairchild.
