United in marriage August 23 at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church in Owen were Miss Theresa Milliren, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Claire Milliren of Rt. 1 Withee, and Donald Schindler, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Bruno Schindler of Rt. 2 Owen. The Rev. H. L. Crubel officiated at the 11 a.m.
double-ring ceremony.
The bride given in marriage by her father chose a
floor-length gown of white taffeta, with Chantilace inserts and short sleeves,
in A-line style, with a detachable train. Her elbow-length illusion veil was
secured by a lace and pearl headpiece. She carried a bouquet of daisy pompons,
white roses and greens.
Miss Priscilla Milliren served her sister as
maid-of-honor. Miss Ramona Milliren and Miss Mary Milliren, also sisters of the
bride, were bridesmaids. They wore lime green A-line gowns of whipped cream
dotted Swiss, trimmed with white and green daisies. Each carried a basket of
daisy pompoms and greens.
Kenneth LaRock of Withee was bestman. Michael
Milliren of Withee and Gary Holmes of Medford were groomsmen. Serving as ushers
were John Milliren of Withee and James Schindler of Owen.
Organ music was
provided by Miss Rhonda Mattson of Owen. Vocalists were Mrs. David Wittek of
River Falls and Miss Diane Staniec of Eau Claire.
A reception was held at
St. Hedwig’s Hall in Thorp.
The bride was a junior at Wisconsin State
University-La Crosse. The groom is a graduate of Wisconsin State University-Eau
Claire, and was affiliated with the Beta Upsilon Sigma business fraternity. He
is presently performing his military obligation in the army.
Mr. and Mrs.
Schindler will make their home at Ft. Knox, Ky., for the present.
