2013)
Mathilda J. Hollman, age 87, Maple Grove, MN formerly of
Abbotsford, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at North Memorial Health Center
in Robbinsdale, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on
Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Father
Dan Hackel will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
in Colby. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on
Wednesday, May 15 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford with a Rosary
Service at 7:45. There will also be a time of visitation from 10:00 AM until
time of services Thursday at the church.
Mathilda was born March 14, 1926
in Colby, the daughter of John and Pauline (Schmuck) Rankel. She attended the
Colby Area Schools. Mathilda was united in marriage to Richard Hollman on
September 2, 1944 in Colby. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1979.
Together they farmed in the Town of Colby until 1970 when they moved to
Abbotsford. She worked as a clerk at Kramer's IGA in Abbotsford, volunteered for
elections and cleaned St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford after her
retirement. In 2001, Mathilda moved to Minnesota where she developed a fondness
for geese, a certain brown fluffy cat, and sometimes played pinochle at the
Community Center.
Mathilda is survived by her five daughters: Sharon
(Michael) Cole, Joliet, IL, Marlene Schnelle, Jean (Keith) Genrich and Mary
Hollman all of Wausau and Peggy Hollman, Maple Grove, MN; five grandchildren:
Joan Koppa, Wausau, Jon Schnelle, Madison, Jayne Rojas, Aurora, IL, Carrie
Seneker, Joliet, IL and Kristin Irwin, Crest Hill, IL; seven
great-grandchildren: Dustin and Caleb Koppa, Sam, Ryan and Kerrigan Seneker, and
Payton and Jack Irwin. She is further survived by her three sisters: Helen
Gannon, Irene Schultze and Hildegarde Dizonno all of Chicago, IL; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, three sisters, Pauline Overbeck, Lillian Dreczynski, and
Christine Hanson, and three brothers, Walter, George, and John Rankel.
