Miss
Burleigh Ann Galvin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Galvin of Abbotsford, and
James Raymond Behn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Behn of route 2, Gleason, were
united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 22, 1964, at the First Methodist Church at
Marshfield. Vases of red roses adorned the altar before which the Rev. Wesley
Dafoe read the service at 7:30 o'clock. During the candlelight ceremony, Miss
Mary Hickner sang "Hawaiian Wedding Song" and "The Lord's Prayer." Maldon Plank
was the organist.
The bride wore a regal linen dove sheath floor length
gown with a detachable train. Venice lace trimmed the Sabrina neckline, elbow
length sleeves, skirt hem and train. She had a waist length veil and carried a
sheaf of five red roses.
Attending her was Mrs. Nancy Gunning of Barron
as matron of honor, and Miss Cheryl Weisenberger as bridesmaid.
They wore
identical pink silk linen gowns styled with empire A-line skirts, elbow sleeves
and scoop necklines. Each carried a red rose.
Donald Allen of Madison was
the best man and Pat J. Galvin of Abbotsford was the groomsman.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Hotel Charles, Marshfield.
Guests from a distance were from Pleasantville, Youngsville and Corey, Pa.,
Milwaukee, Grafton, Madison, Waupaca, Wis. Rapids, Tomah, Milladore and Merrill.
After Sept. 1, Mr. and Mrs. Behn will be at home at 2550 East Dayton,
Madison.
