Funeral services for
Herman G. Uhlig, 19, route 2, Colby, were held Sunday, Aug. 30 at the Lulloff
Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Serr officiated, and burial was made in Green Grove
Cemetery.
Herman Uhlig died Aug. 27, 1964 from injuries received in an
auto accident.
Pallbearers were Ervin Wesling, Mark Carpenter, David
Schulz, Kenneth Schultz, Larry Weix and Gary Feeker. Honorary pallbearers were
Melvin Kudingo, James Suckow, Jerry Haavisto and Arlyn Larson.
Herman
Uhlig was born April 14, 1945 in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.). He
received his education at Sand Hill rural school and Colby High School,
graduating in 1963. He had been employed at Schilling's Cheese House, Abbotsford
until last spring, and worked at the Spencer Sport Products Co. in Spender for
the past three months.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William Uhlig, route 2, Colby; four brothers, Wilbert of Colby, Gerald of
Sturtevant, Charles of Kenosha, and John stationed with the army in Germany;
foru sisters, Mrs. Paul (Kathleen) Miller, west Allis, Mrs. James (Marie)
Gussert, Brookfield, Anita, West Allis, and Linda at home; his paternal
grandmother, Mrs. Gustav Uhlig, Abbotsford. He was preceded in death by one
sister.
Those attending the funeral from out of town included Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Uhlig and daughter Janet, Kenosha, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, West
Allis, Mr. and Mrs. James Gussert and daughter Carolyn of Brookfield, Miss Anita
Uhlig, West Allis, Pfc. John Uhlig, U.S. Army, Germany, Ernst Stockmeyer,
Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. George Uhlig and son Norbert, Pittsville, Mr. and Mrs.
Al Uhlig and daughter Shelly, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Uhlig, Mrs. Gust Uhlig, Mr.
and Mrs. Adrian Strom and family, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Auberson,
Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Roder, Miss Clara Uhlig, Marshfield, William
Uhlig and son William Jr. of Glidden, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Neuhaus, Mrs. Walter
Schuette, Abbotsford, Ed Hasseldick, Wis. Rapids, and many other relatives and
friends from this area
