Funeral
services for Mrs. Anna Smart, 66, Colby, were held Sunday, Sept. 27, at the
First United Church of Christ at Colby. The Rev. Armin Suchow officiated and
interment was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Smart died at 11:50
p.m., Sept. 23, 1964, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home, where she had been in
ill health for several months.
Kenneth Schulz, Colby, sang "Forever With
the Lord" and "The Lord is My Shepherd," accompanied by Mrs. Vernon Boss at the
organ.
Pallbearers were Louis Schulz, Perry Schulz, Calvin Schulz,
William Theilig, Walter Theilig and Maynard Bauer.
Anna Smart was born in
1898 in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.). She later moved to the town of
Frankfort, where she lived until moving to the city of Colby in 1946. She is
survived by two daughters, Mrs. Laurence (Erma) Mielke, Wausau, and Mrs. Walter
(Norma) Schillinger, route 1, Edgar; one son, Lee Smart, route 1, Curtiss; two
brothers, Ernest Schulz, Colby, and Gottlieb Schulz, Spencer; and 20
grandchildren, and one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one
daughter, in infancy; four brothers, and two sisters.
Those attending the
funeral came from Colby, Abbotsford, Owen, Edgar, Milwaukee, Wausau, Tomahawk,
Athens, Plymouth, Fenwood, Stratford and Curtiss.
