Joseph Sr. (18 JAN 1888 – 15 AUG 1964)
Joseph F. Wincek, Sr, 76, passed
away of heart failure in Stanley on Saturday, August 14, 1964.
Mr.
Wincek, a farmer, was born January 18, 1888 in Poland. He came to America at the
age of 5 and resided in the following places: Buffalo, N.Y., Chicago, and farmed
near Thorp. On April 21, 1923, he was united in marriage to Sophie Guza at St.
Hedwig’s Church in Chicago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 18
at ten a.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Erwin Bieno, Walter Podognski, John Hazuga, Steve Jacks, Edward
Depa and Stanley Kaszubowski.
Surviving are his wife Sophie, one son,
Joseph Hr. of Thorp, on stepson, Richard Wincek of Chicago; five daughters
(Irene) Mrs. Adolph Rycerz, Thorp; (Valerie) Mrs. Anton Jacks, Thorp; (Eleanor)
Mrs. Ted Kapica, (Lorraine) Mrs. Joseph Cichon, Cicero, (Rosemary) Mrs. Marlon
Burzynski, Thorp; one brother, Max Wincek of Stanley; two sisters (Agnes) Mrs.
Leon Mateski and (Katryn) Mrs. George Novak, both of Stanley; 25 grandchildren,
two daughters-in-law, five sons-in-law. A brother, Tony, precedes him in death.
