Burnett, Mary A. (14 DEC 1921 - 18 MAY 2013)
Mary Annette Burnett,
age 91, of Spencer, passed away at her residence on Saturday, May 18, 2013
surrounded and cared for by her family.
To honor Mary's wishes, a private
service will be held. She will be laid to rest in West Spencer Cemetery in the
town of Sherman, Clark County. Her seven grandchildren will serve as
pallbearers.
Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer is assisting the
Burnett family.
Mary was born December 14, 1921, daughter of the late
Ellis and Nina Jacklin. She attended public school in Neillsville and graduated
from Neillsville High School. She married Rue Burnett on December 22, 1956 at
Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield. Sadly, he passed away in 1998.
Employment included Roddis Manufacturing of Marshfield, and along with her
husband Rue, she owned and operated Burnett Services, a passenger transport
company based in Spencer. Mary was a dedicated and supporting member of both
Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield and later Spencer United Methodist
Church in Spencer. She shared her time and talents with the church, the United
Methodist Women, as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader, as a Cub Scout den
mother and volunteered at both Spencer Elementary School and Lucille Tack Center
for the Arts.
Hobbies included reading, yard work and gardening. Mary
also enjoyed crafting and cooking delicious meals for her family
Survivors include her three children: Sue (Thomas) Tillma of Milan, MN; Jon
Burnett of Spencer and Joe (Kathy) Burnett of Spencer; seven grandchildren:
James Tillma, Logan Tillma, Austin Burnett, Quenten Burnett, Ben Burnett, Jaynie
Burnett and Jack Burnett along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and
many good friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband Rue, one brother James in infancy and two sisters: Stella Asplin and
Emily Loberg.
