Heinzen, Marlene (18 SEP 1945 -
17 MAY 2013)
Marlene Heinzen, age 67, of Marshfield, passed away Friday,
May 17, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Friday, May 24,
2013 at the Hansen Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. Pastor Mark Krueger
will officiate. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of
services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Hillside
Cemetery, Marshfield.
Marlene was born September 18, 1945 to Mattie
Karlotta Minsaas-Hansen and William Gustaf Hansen in Neillsville, Wisconsin. She
received her education in Neillsville. In 1960, at the age of 15, Marlene moved
to Marshfield to work as an au pair for the Tremmel family. She met and fell in
love with the neighbor boy George Heinzen. After dating for several years, the
pair married on August 13, 1966 and remained together until his death in June of
2004.
Marlene and George are survived by their three children: Michelle
Heinzen of Wauwatosa, WI, Thomas Heinzen of Chili, and George Heinzen of
Greenwood; and their grandchildren: Alexa Fritsch, Olivia Heinzen, Montanah
Heinzen, and Gage Heinzen. She is further survived by her siblings: Virginia
Kuehn of Neillsville, Richard Hansen of Warrens, Carroll Hansen of California,
Harold Hansen of Spencer, Arlene Kopinski of Mondovi, Mickey Oestreich of
Marshfield, Mavis Sage of Neillsville, Denny Hansen of Withee, and Jimmy Hansen
of Athens, TN.
Marlene retired from Land O'Lakes in Spencer after 30
years of service and making many wonderful life-long friendships. She enjoyed
gardening and maintaining a large floral landscape at her home of almost 50
years. Marlene was an avid bird watcher and loved to provide food and shelter
for several varieties of birds on her property. She will be remembered for her
kindness and generosity.
In addition to her husband, Marlene is preceded
in death by her parents, and three siblings: William Hansen, Mildred Kopinski,
and Ronald Hansen.
