Bergeron,
Ethel (2 OCT 1922 - 26 MAY 2013)
Ethel (Grams) Bergeron, age 90, of
Loyal, died at Colonial Center, in Colby, on Tuesday, March (May?) 26, 2013,
where she was loved by the caregivers. Ethel Edna Walker was born on October 2,
1922 in Tiverton, R.I., the daughter of Ernest and Emma Walker. She was raised
and received her education in Massachusetts, graduating from Fall River High
School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Frank Louis Bergeron on October
19, 1946, in Tiverton, R.I. Ethel worked as a seamstress for several years and
worked with her husband on their chicken farm. In 1971, they bought a farm near
Granton, Wis., where they farmed and milked cows. Her husband, Louis, as he was
known, died on August 20, 1978. She continued to live on the farm with her
family, helping them out, until she entered the nursing home in Colby, Wis., on
February 23, 2012.
Grams had many interests, but especially dear to her
heart was spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking pies, playing
cards, gardening and she loved animals. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and
talking about Jehovah and his promise of a paradise to come was very close to
her heart.
Psalms 37:10, 11 and 29 was one of her favorite scriptures.
She is survived by her children: Margaret (Scott) Schlinsog, Frank
Bergeron and Lincoln (Kathy) Bergeron, all of Granton; four grandchildren, Becky
Coleman, James Strey, Frank Bergeron III and Jennifer Geiger; nine
great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; one son, in infancy;
one grandson, Joshua Bergeron; and five sisters, Gladys Grundy, Helen St
Laurent, Grace Theodore, Mary Bono and Abbey Sylvia; and one brother, John
Kimble.
There is to be a memorial service given for Ethel (Grams)
Bergeron at 1:30 p.m. June 8, 2013, at Kingdom Hall in Neillsville, followed by
a luncheon at the Legion Hall in Neillsville.
