Karon A. Grube, 69, Medford, died on Saturday, May 25 at Aspirus
Wausau Hospital, where she had been a patient for one day.
Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin
officiating. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.
Pallbearers are Troy Petznick, Chad and Tyler Grube, John Clausnitzer, Gary and
Mike Dassow and Bill Kowalefski.
Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral
Home in Medford on Tuesday, May 28 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at
7:45 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
Hemer Funeral Homes of
Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
The former
Karon Dassow was born on June 21, 1943 in Medford to the late William and Amelia
M. (Gebauer) Dassow Jr. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and was a 1961
graduate of Medford High School. She worked at the ASCS office in Medford for
two years.
On June 29, 1963 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she married
Gerald H. Grube, who preceded her in death on September 25, 2007. They moved to
Des Plaines, Ill., then returned to Medford 10 years later. She worked at
Medford Cooperative for 10 years, then at Northern Merchandise for 17 years
until retirement in 2007.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic
Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors
include a daughter, Tammy (Dan) Weber of Dorchester; two sons, Scott of Medford
and Todd (Diane) of Byron, Minn.; a brother, John "Jack" (Barbara) Dassow of
Hartland; a sister, Linda Kenyon of Medford; nine grandchildren Troy Petznick,
Jamie (Morgan) Crotteau and Tia and Tara Weber, Brooke, Tyler, Chase, Chad and
Gabrina Grube; and one great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can
be made to her family to be designated at a later date.
