Schlagenhaft, Theresa (24 July 1892-07 Apr 1964)

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, April 11from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for Theresa Schlagenhaft, 72, who died early Tuesday morning, April 7 of a heart attack. Father Norbert E. King officiated at the Requim Mass and burial was made in the parish cemetery. St. Mary’s Altar Society attended the services in a body.

Theresa Schlagenhaft, the former Theresa Mahlich, was born July 24, 1892 in Rozelville and was married to George S. Schlagenhaft on June 21, 1921 in Rozelville. After their marriage the couple lived in Marshfield until 1930 when they moved to Loyal and have lived here since. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society.

Mrs. Schlagenhaft’s husband preceded her in death on April 7, 1962.

She is survived by two sons, George of Marshfield and Robert of Loyal. Also by one brother, Steve Mahlich, Antigo; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Volcomer, Spokane, Washington; and fourteen grandchildren.

Beside her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, and two sisters; a son, Tony and one daughter, Margaret.

The pallbearers were Richard, Eugene and John Schlagenhaft, Ray Johnston, John Beaver and Bert Brown.

Out of town people who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Dekert, Wisconsin Dells. Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer, Mr. and Mrs. William Wellerman, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs.Hoefts, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson and family, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. William Zastrow, Riplinger; Mr. and Mrs. George Schlagenhaft and family, Mr. and Mrs. August Schlagenhaft and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kermon Schlagenhaft and family, Mrs. Bruno Schlagenhaft and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. David Schlagenhaft, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schlangenhaft, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Schlangenhaft, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Ploog, all of Milwaukee.
