Funeral services were held at St.
Bernard’s Church, Thorp, on Friday, Sept. 11 for Henry Huls, 72, who passed away
at St. Joseph Hospital, Chippewa Falls, after a lingering illness. Rev. Francis
Brockman officiated at the ten a.m. service, and burial was in St. Bernard’s
cemetery. Pallbearers were Cyril and Ed Alger, Murvil, and Wilfred E.
Vanderhyden, Francis Hedler and Chet Sniegowski
Henry Huls was born in
Hollandtown, Wis., on July 16, 1892 and moved to Thorp in 1901, where he lived
the rest of his life. He was married to Hazel Graham at St. Bernard’s Church at
Thorp, and did carpentry most of his life.
He is survived by his wife,
Hazel; three daughters: Mrs. Alvin (Eunice) Jacque and
Mrs. John (Lucretia)
Paff of Thorp; and Mrs. Leonard (Jane) Larson of Stanley; one son, William, of
Thorp; seventeen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two
sisters, Mrs. John S. (Jeanette) Bogumill, and Mrs. Lawrence (Kate) Van Loo, of
Thorp; and two brothers, John of rural Thorp and Arnie of Chippewa Falls.
