Glasshof, John (11 February 1929 - May
2013) With Flag
John was born February 11, 1929, in Thorp, Wisconsin,
the son of William and Bertha (Soderberg) Glasshof. He graduated from Thorp High
School in 1947 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior. On
July 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Gilday at the Pentecostal
Lighthouse church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Their first home was in Stevens
Point, Wisconsin where John was employed by Armour & Company. John spent two
years in military service 1952-1954 during the Korean conflict. After service,
John and Gerri moved to Litchfield, Minnesota where he was again employed by
Armour & Company as Area Sales Manager. After 10 years, they moved to Willmar,
Minnesota where they lived for 20 years and were active members in their church,
Willmar Assembly of God. John served as a deacon, taught Sunday school, worked
with Royal Rangers, and sang in the choir. After 29 years, John retired from
Armour & Company and then established a partnership in a real estate firm
(Glasshof-Daby Real Estate). After six years, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona (in
1985). John continued in real estate until he retired in the year 2000.
John is survived by his three children: son, Mark Glasshof (Camille) of Oklahoma
City, OK, and his three children, Laura, Amanda and Andrew; daughter, Shannon
Glasshof of Scottsdale, AZ; and daughter, Joni Keller, and her two sons, Eddie
and Steven of Scottsdale, AZ. John is also survived by his sister, Evelyn
Ricksham of Richfield, MN; brother, William Glasshof of Palm Coast, FL; and
brother, Gerald Glasshof (Maxine) of Marshfield, WI.
Funeral service is
at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E.
Pinnacle Peak Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona 85255. The burial will follow the service
at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
