Boie, Norval George (11 June
1923 - 25 May 2013)
Norval George Boie, 89, of Stanley, passed away on
Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Oakbrook Health and Rehab Center in Thorp. He was
born on June 11, 1923, in Thorp to the late Harry and Myrtle (Edwardson) Boie.
He grew up in rural Thorp and graduated from Stanley High in 1941.
On
June 16, 1945, he married Mae Graham at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Stanley. The
couple farmed in the Town of Worden for many years and continued to help Duane
on the family farm after selling to him in 1986. He was a lifelong farmer, a
member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for many years, and most recently Trinity
Christian Fellowship where he was the head usher. He enjoyed singing and did so
many Sundays in church.
Norval is survived by his five children: Connie
McKay of Victoria, TX, Chuck (Yvonne) Boie of Maple Grove, MN, Dale (Marcie)
Boie of Thorp, Janice Raimer of Appleton and Duane (Faith) Boie of Medford; many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, June Larson of Milwaukee; and
two brothers: John (Mary) Boie of Waukesha and Dean (Joyce) Boie of Stanley.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae (February 16, 2013); his parents;
his in-laws, Frank and Dorothea Graham; two grandchildren: Kim McKay and Brandon
Schleicher; and two sons-in-law: Don McKay and Jerry Raimer.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Plombon Funeral Home,
Stanley. Rev. Jim Capets will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m.
on Friday at the Plombon Funeral home, Stanley and one hour prior to services
Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in the Evergreen
Cemetery, Stanley at a later date.
