Lato, Agnes Cecelia (22 January
1934 - 22 May 2013)
Agnes C. Lato, age 79, of Thorp, WI, went to be with
the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on
Monday, May 27, 2013, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, in Thorp. Rev.
Don Meuret officiated and burial followed in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Jason Lato, Brent Lato, Kurt Kadolph, Ken Kadolph, Kevin
Kadolph, Nathan Petke, Travis Petke, Quentin Fravert and Derrick Fravert.
Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral home on Sunday, May 26, 2013, from 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service, and again at the church on Monday, from
10 a.m. until time of service.
Agnes Cecilia Karpinski was born on
January 22, 1934, to Casimer and Mary (Wilczek) Karpinski. She received her
education at area schools and graduated from Thorp High School in 1951. Later
that year she married Joseph A. Lato on August 28, 1951.
Agnes helped run
the office for one of the family businesses as well as raising her family. She
enjoyed baking, fishing, putting puzzles together, and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Joseph A. Lato of Thorp; one son, Roy
(Judy) Lato of Thorp; four daughters: Jean (Randy) Kadolph of Waupaca, Joan
(Fred) Petke of Thorp, Mary (Fred) Fravert of Merrill, and Rita Dion of Dresser;
14 grandchildren: Kurt, Ken, Kevin, Nathan, Travis, Quentin, Derrick, Katrina,
Kayla, Jason, Brent, Ashley, Dave, and Dan; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is
also survived by one sister, Eleanor Hull; two brothers: Marion (Linda)
Karpinski and Chester (Alice) Karpinski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ted Lato;
one son-in-law, Bob Dion; and one brother-in-law, David Hull.
