Lewis, Marlee
(Marriage - 6 September 1969)
Miss Marlee Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Lewis of Schofield, and Duane A. Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion
Spencer of Rt. 1 Neillsville, were married September 6 at St. Paul’s Evangelical
Church at Wausau. The Rev. Ortwein performed the 7 p.m. double ring ceremony.
The bride given in marriage by her father, appeared in a floor-length silk
faille A-line skimmer gown with chapel sweep train. It was highlighted with a
Collette neckline embroidered with Alencon lace and seed pearls. The front of
the gown was trellised with divided lace panels embroidered with seed pearls and
sequins. The cage effect back, extended into the train. The long chapel sweep
and elbow length veils were held in place by a silk faced peau pillbox with
Alencon lace appliqués, accented with seed pearls, and a double bow at the back.
She carried a cascade of white roses centered with a single white orchid.
Linda M. Lewis served her sister as maid of honor. Barbara Worzella and
Marlene Fugerer were bridesmaids and Mary Spencer was junior bridesmaid. They
wore floor-length A-line gowns of Mediterranean blue chiffon. The high rise
waistlines were defined with small satin ribbons and the bodices featured scoop
necklines. The long sheer sleeves were cuffed at the wrists with satin ribbons
and the skirts were pleated on each side. A cluster of satin petals with side
sprays of fringed leaves formed the headpieces that secured their long
floor-length veils and double short veils. They carried cascade arrangements of
tinted blue carnations.
The groom was dressed in his Air Force blues.
Jim Spencer, brother of the groom, was bestman. Allen Foster and Jim Fugerer
were groomsmen. Ushers were Walter Spencer and Dave Kufalk.
Miss Arleen
Eojue presided at the organ. A wedding reception was held in the church parlors.
The bride is a 1969 graduate of North Central Technical Institute at Wausau.
The groom, a 1966 Neillsville High School graduate and a 1968 graduate of North
Central Technical Institute, is now serving in the air force.
Following
their marriage the couple left for San Antonio, Tex., where he is stationed at
