VICTOR MATTILA RITES
HELD TUESDAY, JULY 28
Funeral services were held in Bethany Lutheran
Church here at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, for Victor Mattila, 83, who died July
25. The Rev. Lauri Isaacson officiated and burial was made in Riverside
cemetery.
Pallbearers were Soilomon Laakso, Hyalmer Heikkinen, Arne
Laakso, Frank Luoma, Kauno Niemi and Matt Hautamaki.
Mrs. Kauno Niemi,
with Hjalmar Heikkinen and Mrs. William Kansas, accompanied at the organ by Mrs.
Toivo Kallio, sang “Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown?” and a Finnish hymn, “
Rauhaa Loyra Kaan Maan Paalta.”
Floral tributes were in charge of
;Mrs. Arne Laakso, Mrs. Emil Potocnik, Anna Ristola, Mrs. William Maki and
Kathryn and Marilyn Maki.
Relatives from out of town attending the
services were Mr. and Mrs. Toivo Mattila and daughter Patsy, Waukegan, Ill; Mrs.
Sylvia Marr and daughter, Evelyn, and Mrs. Jack (Carolyn) Porter, Cincinnati,
Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Garces and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Kallio,
John Rosenquist and Harvey Rosenquist, Waukegan, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hawks,
Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson, Madison.
