ALICE
TURNQUIST IS BRIDE OF ARTHUR FELDMAN
The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, Pastor of
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greenwood, officiated at the marriage ceremony,
Saturday, August 8, at 2:30 P.M. when marriage vows were pronounced by Miss
Alice Jane Turnquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turnquist, Greenwood, and
Arthur Amil Feldman, Owen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Feldman, Janesville.
The Rev. Mr. Myhrwold sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and Larry LaFavre sang
“Wedding Prayer,” for the nupitals rites for which Mrs. Don Warner was the
organist. Mr. Turnquist presented his daughter in marriage.
Baskets
containing arrangements of white gladioli were church decorations.
Mrs.
Carol Miller of Rice Lake, the matron of honor and Miss Mary Lou Turnquist,
Greenwood, the bridesmaid, carried white carnations tied with pink ribbon and
wore street-length dresses of peau.
Corrine and Ronnie Turnquist were
flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.
For her wedding the bride wore
a floor-length gown of Chantilly-type lace. The portrait neckline of pleated
tulle was embellished with sequins, accenting the fitted lace bodice. The skirt
was fashioned with three pickup cabbage roses in the front and tiers of lace
down the back flowing into a chapel train.
Her veil was attached to a
bridal headpiece and she carried pink roses with stephanotis.
Larry
LeFavre was best man, Sam Feldman, groomsman, and Robert Turnquist and Paul
Feldman, ushers.
The wedding reception and supper were held in the
church parlors. Guests were present from Greenwood, Owen, Withee, Medford,
Milwaukee, Wausau, Marshfield, Wonewoc, Elroy Janesville, Neillsville, Eau
Claire, Elk Mound, Cameron Green Bay, Laona, Cadott, Loyal, Rice Lake, Waupun,
Mt. Horeb and Rockford, Ill.
The bride received her education at
Greenwood High School, Taylor County Teachers College at Medford and Wisconsin
State University, Stevens Point. Her husband attended Wonewoc High School and
Wisconsin State University, Stevens Point, where he was a member of Phi Sigma
Epsilon. Both are teachers at Owen-Withee Public School.
After a wedding
trip through eastern states, the Feldmans will reside in Owen.
