Basara, Emily (2 April 1919 - 11 September 1969)
Mrs. Emily (Edward)
Basara, 50, of Chicago, Ill., died at Franklin Boulevard Hospital there
Thursday, September 11. The body lay in state Sunday at the Georgas Funeral Home
here, and funeral services were held there Monday at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. D.
Eugene Sprague, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial was
made in the Hatfield Cemetery (Jackson County).
Mrs. Basara was born
April 2, 1919 to Thomas and Frances (Plonka) Nowak, in Jackson County. She
received her education in the Hatfield School. As a young lady she went to
Chicago, where she worked and lived most of her life. She was married to Edward
Basara in that city on September 2, 1939. He survives.
Other survivors
include: two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Sandra) Pack of Chicago and Mrs. Peter
(Shirley) Werdermann of Wildwood, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Anna)
Wroblewski of Chicago and Mrs. Milton (Lillian) Kramer of Skokie, Ill.; a
brother, Rudolph Novak of Merrillan; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers
were: Erwin Gruper, Albert Mohr, Joe Pasek, John Dickenson, Klaus Werdermann and
Richard Kramer. Mrs. Vivian Votava and Mrs. Norman Faber sang, “Sweet Bye and
Bye” and “Amazing Grace,” with guitar accompaniment.

Novak and family, Mrs. John Pasek, Joe Pasek, Clara Pasek, Mrs. Frank Pollick,

Mrs. Orville Parker, all of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pack, Mrs. Anna
Wroblewski, Mrs. Emma Werdermann, Klaus Werdermann, Richard Kramer, Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Kramer, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kramer and Kandice, and Mrs. Elmer Pittner of
Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Werdermann of Wildwood, Ill.; Mrs. Lillian
Kramer of Skokie, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Novak of Marshfield; Mrs. Charles
Jelinek and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bloczynski of Black River Falls.
