“Folke” III (4 MAY 1957 - 27 MAY 2013)
Nils “Folke” Becker III, 56,
Edgar, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at home under the care of Ministry Home Care
Hospice and his family.
Folke was born May 4, 1957, to the late Nils
Folke and Jean (Boos) Becker Jr. in Minneapolis, Minn. He married Cheryl
Andreske on October 1, 2011, in Wausau.
Folke was a 1975 graduate of D.C.
Everest High School. He worked for NAPA Auto Parts, for several local farmers
with their ginseng, and lastly at Menzner Lumber in Marathon, where he retired
early due to his illness.
Folke loved riding his motorcycle, especially
when taking trips with his wife, Cheryl. One of his favorite trips was to New
Orleans. They fished together and he really enjoyed Cheryl’s cooking.
He
also enjoyed downhill skiing, heavy metal and rock n’ roll music. He especially
loved spending time with his family, friends and playing cars with grandson,
Lucas.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Breanna Olig,
Wausau; step-daughter, Becki (Josh) Blaubach, Wausau; step-son, Jason Rhyner,
Wausau; two grandsons, Lucas and Ryan; and a brother, William (Marie) Becker.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at St. John’s
Lutheran Church, 725 County U, in the town of Rib Falls. Rev. Terry Reich
presided. Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the
church.
The Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with the
arrangements.
The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice
and nurse Bonnie, for their wonderful care and kindness during Folke’s illness.
