Zastrow, Eldred A. (8 SEP 1925 -

Eldred A. Zastrow, age 87, of the Town of Hamburg, Marathon
County, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his home under the care of his family
and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Eldred was born on the family farm on
April 9, 1925, in the Town of Hamburg, son of the late Paul and Elisabeth
(Winter) Zastrow.
He married Jean E. Borchardt on September 8, 1951, in
the Town of Berlin. She survives. Eldred had been a dairy farmer in the Town of
Hamburg, and farming was his passion. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger
years; dart ball; and deer hunting.
Besides his wife, Jean E. Zastrow, of
the Town of Hamburg, Eldred is survived by three daughters, Kay (Scott) Drake,
Julie (Richard) Kuck, and Jolene (Jeff) Draxler, all of Athens; eight
grandchildren, Amanda (Trever) Ostrowski, Wausau, and Justin (wife, Shannon)
Kuck, Jill (Jonathon) Heier, Jordan Kuck, Brittany (Phil) Draxler-Sukow, Jeremy
Kuck, and Brooke and Bradley Draxler, all of Athens; four great grandchildren,
Jayce and Riley Ostrowski, Hattie Heier, and Mason Kuck; and one sister, Ellen
Vandre, Athens.
The funeral will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, March 16,
2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Hamburg. The Rev. Joel Danner will
officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery, Town of Hamburg.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. The Taylor-Stine
Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, the
family suggests memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Hamburg, or
Ministry Home Care Hospice.
