Holy wedding vows united
Miss Edna Mae Beck and Richard Lee Williams at the Christian and Missionary
Alliance Church on Saturday, August 22nd. The Rev. James R. Stone and Pastor A.
L. Woodring assisting, joined the young people in Holy Matrimony at a 2:30
o’clock ceremony. The church was decorated with two baskets of fall flowers and
palms and ferns when her father escorted the bride to the altar.
The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Beck of Owen, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Williams of Youngstown, Ohio.
During the
ceremony Mrs. Jack Brunner of St. Paul, Minn., rendered vocal selections of “O
Perfect Love” and “The Song of Ruth” accompanied by Miss Darlene Brown of Wolf
Point, Montana, on the piano.
A white organza floor length gown was worn
by the bride that ended in a chapel train, featured a scooped neckline and
fitted bodice. From her crown headpiece a fingertip veil was attached. The pearl
necklace was a gift from the groom. She carried a corsage of a white orchid
surrounded by stephanotis on a Bible.
Matron of honor was Mrs. L. D.
Dunne of St. Paul and Miss Carolyn Stone of Hibbing,, Minn., was bridesmaid.
Their floor length taffeta gowns were one in gold and one in cranberry red which
were designed with a scooped neckline and elbow length sleeves. Their satin
shoes were dyed to match their dresses. Small hats were wore with circle veils
attached. They carried bouquets of fall flowers.
Attending the groom as
best man was Mr. Jack W. Brunner of St. Paul, and Mr. Bruce Wood of St. Paul.
Ushers were Larry D. Dunn and William Farley.
A reception was served
immediately following the ceremony in the church dining room.
The bride
is a 1961 graduate of the Owen-Withee Senior High School and is a senior student
at the St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul. She has been employed as a switch
board operator at the St. Paul Bible college.
The groom is a 1961
graduate from Fitch High School in Ajustintown, Ohio, and is a student at the
St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul. He has been employed recently with the
Protection Department of Montgomery Ward and Company in St. Paul.
After a
wedding trip which took them to the Wisconsin Dells, the newlyweds will make
their home in St. :Paul.
