FINAL RITES HELD FOR MRS. SUSAN MITCHELL, 74

Mrs. Susan Mitchell, 74 of Stanley passed away Tuesday morning, August 18, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley where she was confined but one day after suffering a stroke.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Stanley Church of the Brethern with Rev. Ernest Detreik officiating. Burial services were held at Edson Union cemetery at Edson.

Mrs. Mitchell was born January 15, 1890, to Russell Mason and Mary Henneman Mason. She attended grade school at Edson and on August 24, 1910, was united in marriage to William Mitchell. The couple farmed in this community until he passed away in 1938 at which time she moved to nearby Stanley where she had resided ever since.

Surviving are three sons, Stanley and William Jr. of Stanley, and Woodrow of Owen; one daughter, Mrs. Richard Hakes of Stanley; five brothers, Harvey and Daniel Mason of Boyd, Henry and Joe of Thorp, and Dewey of Klamath Falls, Oregon; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
