MRS. MATHILDA
WILLIAMS RITES HELD AT DORCHESTER
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday at the Peace Evangelical United church of Christ in Dorchester for Mrs.
Mathilda Williams, 81, a former Owen resident, who died Thursday in Milwaukee.
The Rev. Hugh Evans officiated, and burial was made in the Norweigan cemetery at
Curtiss.
Pallbearers were Alfred Erickson, Ervin Gessel, Alan Hawks,
Arthur Tiemay, Carl sheets, and Elmer Volklander.
Mrs. Williams was born
in Norway and came to the United States in 1901. Her marriage to Ben Williams,
who preceded her in death in 1931, took place in 1905 at Dorchester. After their
marriage, the couple lived in the town of Hoard. Since 1941, Mrs. Williams had
made her home with her children in Owen and Milwaukee.
Survivors include
six sons; Otto, Buffalo, N.Y.; Melvin, Pete and Elmer, Milwaukee; Martin,
Stetsonville and Clarence of Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Ino (Elsie) Waukema,
Owen; three stepsons, Harry Wilkins, Owen; Guy Williams, Spokane, Wash., and
Walter Williams, Buffalo, N. Y.; 35 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
