Two-Car Crash Sunday Evening Takes Two Lives Two Injured
A
22 year old Athens area girl, who was to be married in July and a town of Little
Black man were killed early Sunday evening in a two car crash on a town road on
the Clark-Taylor line, west of highway 13.
The victims: Miss Dianne
Marie Metz, 22, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Metz, town of Bern, Marathon
County and David Lee Habermeyer, 25, town of Little Black, Taylor County.
Miss Metz was a passenger in a car driven by her fiancé, Allen Jochimsen,
tow of Little Black when it collided with the Habermeyer auto 2 miles west of
highway 13, in the town of Mayville, Clark County.
Authorities reported
that Jochimsen, a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, is in serious
condition as a result of back and head injuries. Habermeyer’s wife, Donna, 23,
is being treated for fractured wrist, cuts and bruised at Memorial Hospital,
Medford. Her condition was described as satisfactory.
Authorities
reported that the southbound Habermeyer car and the westbound Jochimsen car met
at an intersection of town roads. Habermeyer and Miss Metz suffered massive head
injuries, authorities said, and were believed to have died instantly. Their
death were the fifth and sixth on Clark County highways this year.
