Miss Laurie
Cain, Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manford L. Cain, Granton, was
presented in marriage by her father to Fred Winkler, West Allis, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Helmuth Winkler, Granton, at 2:30 p.m. at Evangelical United Brethern
Church, Chili.
The Rev. L. L. McCormick performed the ceremony and Miss
Gayle Boooth was the soloist, accompanied by Miss Joyce Winter on the organ.
The bride entered the church. decorated in bouquets of spring flowers,
wearing a white floor length gown with chantilly lace bodice and satin skirt,
carrying a bouquet of white roses with green ivy. Her head piece was a sequined
crown of white with a silk illusion veil.
Miss Helena Schlinsog of
Granton attended the bride as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Johnny
White, Madison and Miss Carol Kernz, Chili. The attendants wore street length
yellow floral print dresses of chiffon over taffeta.They carried bouquets of
white daisies,
Mr. Bruce Winkler, brother of the groom, served a best
man. Mr. Johnny White, Madison and Charles Kohel, Granton were the groomsmen.
Ushers were Darryl Booth and Larry Schumacher.
A dinner followed the
ceremony in the church parlors, with a reception held at the home of Helmuth
Winkler.
The bride received her education at Granton, and was a 1963
graduate. She is employed at Globe Union, Inc., Milwaukee. The groom also
received his high school education from Granton and was a 1956 graduate. He
attended Northrup Institute of Technology, Inglewood, California, and Milwaukee
School of Engineering, Milwaukee, and is employed at East-West Enterprises,
Inc., West Allis.
After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin the couple
will make their home at 2628 So. 84th St., West Allis.
Relatives and
friends attending the wedding came from Chicago, Villa Park and Morrison,
Illinois; Milwaukee, Elkhorn, Kenosha, Loyal, Madison, Marshfield, Spencer,
Granton, Chili and Clinton, Iowa.
