Calmes, Mary Lou (2 JAN 1965)
The wedding of
Miss Mary Lou Calmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Calmes, and Gary Lehman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Lehman, all of route 2, Athens, took place during a
nuptial mass Saturday, Jan. 2, 1965, at St. John's Catholic Church, Wuerzburg.
Rev. Charles P. Schumacher officiated and Alex Ellenbecker provided the music.
The bride appeared in a gown of peau de soie that featured floral lace
appliques withstrands of pearls in a vine patter. The long sleeves of the fitted
bodice came to points over the wrists and the back was designed with a full
sweep train in chapel length. A forward headpiece of roses and petals secured
her bouffant veil. She carried a crescent arrangement of yellow roses and white
mums with holly foliage.
For her matron of honor, the bride chose her
sister, Mrs. Walter Augustine of Kenosha. Mr. Augustine served as best man.
Other attendants in the bridal party were Miss Audrey Wiese of Abbotsford
and Theodore Calmes of Whitewater, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lehman of Kenosha.
The bride's attendants were attired alike in ankle length gowns fashioned
with off-white brocaded bodices with silver metallic thread, high necklines,
elbow length sleeves and gathered red velvet skirts. They carried baskets of
white mums with Christmas trim.
Festivities of the wedding day were held
at the Trianon Ballroom, where a reception was held at one-thirty, with dinner
at four-thirty, and a dance in the evening.
Both young people are
graduates of the Athens High School. Their new home is at Marathon where the
groom is employed at the Marathon Cheese Corp.
