Greenwood (16 October 1969)

The 74th birthday of Mrs. Martha Jensen was celebrated on October 8 and the 66th birthday of George Gove was celebrated October 10 at the Clark County Home for the Aged, where they reside.

The Rev. David Logue attended the northwest association Wisconsin conference, United Church of Christ, division on lay life and work and Christian education joint meeting held Monday at the United Church in Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Kuester and family of Eau Claire spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mr. and Mrs. George Kuester.

The Immanuel and Zion United churches will hold their Mission Festival Sunday at the Immanuel Church at 10:45 a.m. The joint youth fellowship will conduct the service. The mission offering will be for the Black River Falls Indian School. Commercial canned goods will be for the Winnebago Children’s home in Neillsville. A potluck dinner will be served at noon.

The Salem Aid will meet in the Zion United Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. Hostesses will be Mrs. Gust Horn and Mrs. George Poppe.

The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday evening in the Legion Hall. Hostesses will be Mrs. Mike Podobnik, Mrs. Archie Lyons, Mrs. Edward Olstinski, Mrs. Kenneth Rodgers and Mrs. Carl Stabnow. Membership dues are requested.

The Dorcas Circle will be entertained Monday evening at the home of Mrs. William Kavanaugh.

The Come and Know Homemakers will meet Monday at the home of Mrs. Matt Gregorich. Mrs. Duane Olson will give the lesson on “What’s new underfoot?”

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Franz have returned to Mesa, Ariz., after spending the summer with their daughters, Mrs. Lyle Verhulst and Mrs. Richard Acker and their families.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Patridge and family of Schofield were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krapf, Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Herrick of Stillwater, Minn., were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herrick, Mrs. Anna Herrick and Mrs. Frances Jelercic. Prior to coming here they also visited their son at Colorado Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cohara and family there.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Suda of Deer Lodge, Mont., and Mrs. Edward Gosse of Greenwood were guests last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Horn.

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gosar visited her father Albert Flick, at Fairchild Wednesday.

Mrs. Mary Gosar returned home last week from Waukegan and Sheboygan, where she visited her relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce of Neillsville had as guests last week Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gosar.
