Local Hunters (Perils - 16 October 1969)
Snowstorm
hides Old Faithful from local hunters
Dr. T. N. Thompson, Atty Michael
Brennan, Dr. R. D. Peters and Dr. R. E. Heineck returned home Friday after a
10-day trip that took them through Montana and Idaho to hunt in Wyoming.
At Yellowstone Park they were caught in the year’s first blizzard. About 60 cars
were held up in approximately 10 inches of snow until snow removing equipment
arrived to free them. Although they were only a short distance from Old
Faithful, they were unable to see it, due to the blinding snow.
In spite
of the difficulty they encountered getting there, the weatherman was kind to
them when they arrived at their destination and the hunting was good. They were
forced to return through Colorado, but brought with them four antelope (each got
one) and two mule deer.
