Florence, Peter Harry (27 October 1883 - 10 October 1969)

Word was received from Mrs. Minnie Groves of Viroqua telling of the death of P. H. Florence, formerly of this vicinity.

Pete Harry Florence, 86, of Viroqua died October 10 at Viroqua Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born October 27, 1883, in Marshfield. He was married to Bessie M. Nelson.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Orin of Waupaca, Eugene of Viroqua and Elroy of Green Bay; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Christianson of South Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Furstenberg of Appleton and Mrs. Julia Vandeberg of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Michel of Lynn and Joseph of Auburndale; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial was made October 14 in Lake Side Cemetery, Phillips.

Mr. and Mrs. Florence lived in this vicinity before moving to Eau Claire, where they lived several years before moving to Viroqua a year or two ago when his health failed. Mr. Florence was weed commissioner for the Town of Washburn for many years.
