Scheibe, Richard R. (21 OCT 1949 - 30 MAY 2013)

Richard R. Scheibe, 63, Abbotsford, passed away early Thursday morning, May 30, 2013, at the House of The Dove in Marshfield.

Richard was born October 21, 1949, in Marshfield. He was the son of the late George and Gladys (Anderson) Scheibe. He attended Pickard Country School and graduated from Colby High School. He later attended technical college for training as a mechanic.

In May 1975, he purchased the homestead and became owner/operator of the dairy farm and continued farming with determined strength and a love for farming amidst his struggles with polio that he was diagnosed with at age five.

Hobbies included riding his 4-wheeler which he used to tend to the farming chores and maintaining and checking fence lines. Other interests included snowmobiling and traveling to destinations like Mexico, Jamaica and Europe.

Survivors include one sister, Enid (Don) Fuchs of Medford; two nieces, Annette Fuchs and Makayla Meyer both of Medford; one nephew, Justin Fuchs of Medford and many cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial birthday and remembrance service for Richard will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Cherokee Park in Marathon County. Following the meal, family and friends will gather at Richard’s farm where his cremated remains will be returned to the earth and his farmland.
