Miss Bonnie Ploeckelman, daughter of Ben Ploeckelman of
Colby, and Robert Wiese, son of Mr. And Mrs. Carl Wiese of Medford, repeated
marriage vows Saturday afternoon, April 18, at Zion Lutheran church, Colby.
The Rev. Harold Woodworth officiated at the 1:30 o’clock services during
which Mrs. Howard Rannow sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Wedding Prayer” with
self-accompaniment.
For her wedding, the bride was attired in a gown of
hand-clipped rose point lace over.
Seed pearls and sequins outlined the Sabrina neckline.
Tulle tiers with lace edging detailed the sides of the skirt and the back
of the gown was lace which ended in a cathedral train with a scalloped hemline.
Her fingertip veil was secured to a pearl band crown with strands of
crystals and bugle beads. She
carried a lace covered white Bible with an orchard on top.
Attending her as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs.
Elmer Kaldunski Jr. of Athens. The
groom’s sisters, the Misses Bonnie and Glenda Wiese, Medford, were bridesmaids.
They all wore powder blue street length taffeta sheath
dresses designed with scoop necklines and nylon sheer overshirt with a bow at
the front of the waist line. Large
crystals were used to trim their horsehair braid crowns with pearls and halo
veils. They carried bouquets of
white carnations centered with blue pompons.
Arnold Wiese of Medford was his brother’s best man.
The groomsmen were Allen Bender of Neillsville, nephew of the bride, and
Lyle Hopperdietzel of Athens, cousin of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Colby
city hall and dinner was served at the church hall.
About 125 guests came for the wedding from Medford,
Milwaukee, Wausau, Colby, Abbotsford, Dorchester, Marshfield, Neillsville,
Athens, Edgar, Marathon, Sheboygan and Melrose Park, Ill.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Wiese will make their home at
Spencer where the groom is employed at Spencer Sports.
