Gruszynski, Louis (29 DEC 1912 – 3 OCT 1964)

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 7th at St. Bernard’s Church, Thorp, for Louis J. Gruszynski, 51, who passed away October 3rd of a lingering illness and heart complications at South Bend, Indiana. Father Francis Brockman officiated at the 10:30 a.m. High Mass and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Pallbearers were: Francis J. Conway, W.F. Nolechek, Arthur Jacques, Joseph Pabich, William Manoney, Jr., and Norbert Pabich.

Mr. Gruszinski was born December 29, 1912 at Ladysmith, Wis. For a number of years, Louis resided in Thorp and was a buttermaker at the Thorp Dairy Plant. Later he moved to Longwood, Wis., where he was the owner of the Longwood General Store. His last number of years were spent at South Bend, Indiana, where he was employed as a salesman for a firm known as the Kaniewski Furniture Store, South Bend, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Coan Erickson on March 22, 1941, at Sioux City, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Thomas R., at home; and one brother, Chester J. Gruszynski, South Bend, Indiana.
