Denise Nelson, 60, Hortonville, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2013, at her home. A small service was held at her home on June 1, 2013.

She was born Denise Dawn James in Delavan, on March 8. 1953. In May 1973, Denise married Robert Dillenbeck and moved to Neillsville, where they raised their two children. Denise obtained her child care certification, and was a teacher’s aid for the preschool in Greenwood for many years. She then went on to be a teacher’s aid in the Neillsville Elementary School for many years after that. She enjoyed her flowers and garden, was a beautiful cake decorator and loved spending time with her grandchildren. In March 2010, Denise married Mark Nelson and they enjoyed their time together in Florida, Delavan, and Hortonville.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Nelson, Hortonville; two children, Robert (Holly) Dillenbeck, Mosinee, and Jenifer (Mark) Lezotte, Appleton, their father, Robert Dillenbeck, Neillsville; four grandchildren, Brooklyn and Logan Dillenbeck and Grace and Owen Leszotte; Her parents, Arden and Alyce Reum; and a brother Thomas James.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Donald James.
