Slemec, Rudolph (15 Oct 1920-23 May 2013)
Rudolph “Rudy” Slemec, 92, Willard, died on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at
Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. No services were held. Burial of
cremains will take place in the Willard Cemetery at a later date.
Rudolph
Slemec was born on Oct. 15, 1920, in Willard, the son of Joseph and Frances
“Fannie” (nee Fortuna) Slemec. He was raised on the family farm and received his
education at McKinley School. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from July
13, 1942, until his honorable discharge on June 28, 1945. He returned to the
family farm in Willard which he ran until the time of his death. He was a member
of the Greenwood American Legion Post #238. He had many interests, but
especially loved trapping, deer hunting, fishing and being out doors.
Rudy
is survived by three brothers, Anton Slemec, Willard, James Slemec, St. Paul,
Minn., and Edward Slemec, Milwaukee; one sister, Josephine Drescher, Neillsville;
one sister-in-law, Mary Slemec, Neillsville; and nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two
infant brothers, Valentine Slemec and Robert Slemec; and one sister, Olga
Slemec.
