Rossow, Charley J. (08 JAN 1880 – 08 OCT 1965)

Charley J. Rossow, 85, Loyal, died of complication on October 8 at 5:30 a.m. at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville where he had been a patient.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 11 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of which he was a member. The Rev. A.M. Moldenhauer officiated and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Rossow was bon January 8, 1880, in Germany and as a small child came to the United States.  His marriage to Tina Larson took place August 14, 1908 at Greenwood.  They farmed near Greenwood until 1919 when they moved to the town of York.  Three years ago they came to Loyal to reside.

The pallbearers were all grandsons of Mr. Rossow.  They were David Schmidt, Duane Dankemeyer, Ronald Bremmer, Gerald Dankemeyer, James Bremmer and Kenneth Dankemeyer.

Mrs. Verlyn Dux and Mrs. Ervin Dux sang “God Be With You Until We Meet Again” and “Children of the Heavenly Father’.  Mrs. J.A. Olsen was the organist.

In addition to his wife, he leaves six sons, Roy, Neillsville; Charles Jr., Owen; Verlin and Glen, Loyal; Gilbert, Milwaukee; and Mervin, Eugene, Oregon; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Schmidt, Granton; Mrs. Lila Dankemeyer, and Mrs. Gilbert (Buelah) Bremmer, Milwaukee; 38 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Rossow was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, five brothers and two sisters.
