Voie, Mr. and Mrs. Otto (55th Anniversary - 22
October 1969)
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie of Greenwood celebrated their 55th
wedding anniversary at their home October 26. Festivities began with a dinner at
noon. Present were their four children and families which included 17 of their
19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Voie of Fond du
Lac, Mr. and Mrs. Harold (June) Dunn and family of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs.
Godfrey (Olive) Dyre and family of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Vivian)
Stuber and family of Mondovi.
Guests were from Fond du Lac, Strum, Eau
Claire, Mondovi, Osseo, Prairie Farm, Chicago and Minneapolis.
The
couple received many gifts and congratulatory messages.
Otto Voie was
born in Scandinavia February 21, 1890. His wife, the former Glenora Syvertson,
was born in Scandinavia October 17, 1895. They were married October 22, 1914, in
the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Iola.
Mr. and Mrs. Voie lived in
Barron for two years and then farmed in the Iola area until they moved to
Greenwood in 1930 and settled on a farm here. Retiring from farming in 1940,
they moved into the city of Greenwood. They are members of Our Savior’s Lutheran
Church and the parish organizations.
